SERVPRO Demonstrates How Our Drying Equipment Works

When the plumbing inside the walls of your house leaks, it can cause water damage inside of the walls. Water damage that is inside your walls can be tricky to deal with, as it means getting dry air inside an environment that is closed off. To get past the drywall, it would seem that entire sheets would have to be removed. However, this is not the case for SERVPRO.

When these situations occur, SERVPRO uses advanced equipment that allows our technicians to reduce the moisture inside the walls while also minimizing damage to the structure of your home. Skyler, of the Stockton franchise, explains that using "dry force machines" allows our technicians to "reduce the amount of damage we create."

Skyler explains that dry force machines are "used for drying down wood floors, tile, [and] any flat surface...like the floor. We also use it to dry down drywall." Using this piece of equipment is very convenient for our technicians because water damage doesn't often stay in one area. Skyler points out that by drilling small holes and feeding a tube through it, these machines can force "dry air in and moist air out." Using a dry force machine allows for SERVPRO to confidently attend to other tasks during a remediation, knowing that dry air is circulating through the moist cavity between the drywall sheet.

Skyler demonstrates that by "simply taking the hose off of the ports, we can go ahead and change it from vacuum to forcing air." The versatility of this machine is one of its great features, as we can change its function in different situations. "The vacuum is more useful for the flooring because it sucks moisture out of the wood floor and out of the tile...Our forcing of the air is more useful for putting dry air into a moist surface, such as drywall." When water damage occurs inside of your drywall, it is very likely that SERVPRO may choose to use this machine to minimize damage while maximizing drying.
